Dont be sarcastic. I KNOW you're not a store, I need help locating somewhere/someone who can help me find one as I've been trying for over a week to get one. I need some HELP not a store.

Lots of places in the UK have replacement screens available, not just Sony, who are, of course, the most expensive. I'm just having trouble finding my model somewhere, and was hoping someone might know of somewhere where I may find one that i haven't already tried. Thanks.

Ebay mate...that is the place to get them whether there or here. Prices are good and the job is not a tough one if you have the manual

I appologize, I did not realize you had already checked the EBay listings. I have many stores in my saved file...I'll see what I can do on this end. There may be something special about the Sont screens like, they have the inverter built onto the screen frame instead of it being a separate piece. I'll see what I can find out. Chip

This is not a store. It is a help site. Why don't you look on http://www.ebay.co.uk there are usually piles of screens there.

There is no sarcasm intended. Look through the posts and you will find lots of people trying to order things here. As others have pointed out Ebay IS the place to look, because original screens are expensive, and you can often pickup up used ones OR 'replacement' ones there. You may find a non-working Sony with a good screen that you can buy cheaply. I do that all the time. There will be quite a few models that use the same screen as yours. You may find a dealer who is advertising a screen for yours, but is also listing it as fitting a whole range of other models. That is useful to know, because you can then troll through Ebay using all the other models numbers.

As this is a US based site, you are not likely to find much on here, because although the replacement cost of screens is less than in the UK, the cost of getting one set over is prohibitive. If you want to buy a NEW screen, find a HongKong dealer on Ebay.uk.That is the cheapeat souce, as they are almost all made in China anyway, and HK has a very good and cheap mail service to the UK.

If you can't find anything reasonable. you alternative is to sell your own on Ebay. You should still get a pretty good price, even with a broken screen. Then you can put that money, plus what you would have spent on a screen, towards a new laptop. Only next time don't get a Sony. They are fine until you need a part. Go for a Toshiba or an Acer. If you decide to do that, put a poast onb here, asking 'Where in (my UK city) can I buy one of these wholesale and save about 30%, and I might just tell you.

Once the setup files are copied don't let it boot from the cd-drive anymore, at the prompt "Press any key to boot from cd...", please do not press any of the keys. However you do require the cd in cd-rom for the rest of the setup.

I need to know the pixels for a sony viao vgn-430d screen

You should be able to find the proper LCD screen, by the LCD screen size, whether it is a widescreen or not, and whether or not it's a matte finish.
I need the exact model number. The Vaio VGN-430d does me no good. Suggest you look on the bottom of the laptop. There may, or may not be a Service Tag.
Look for something like VGN-NR , and a number.
What you may see on the side of the LCD screen, or on the body of the laptop, is just part of the VGN series.
