Question about HP Pavilion dv4000 Notebook
I have got compaq presario v6409TU notebook pc. originally it was with windows vista home edition. i make it changed to windows xp pro.
within a month my windows get corrupted and i format it with windows xp pro service pack 2. now the problem is i m not having sound from the system (i m not having any external sound device ).
i m unable to find the suitable drivers, as they are asking about the sound card information which i dont know.
I don't know if my problem was the same, but I think my sound card fried on my HP Pavillion dv4000. I tried downloading the sound driver many times but to no avail. I called HP customer tech suport and they suggested I buy a new computer. Instead, i spent $40 on a Creative Labs external sound card (X-mod, they vary in price, I think my $40 version was a refurbished E-bay purchase) and I plug that device into a USB port and now everything is golden.
