I have a hp photosmart c4280 printer which is saying paper jam even though i have checked everywhere and cannot find pape. I would like to add this is the thrid HP photosmart printer ive had and they all have the same issue. first one broke, second one was given to me and said paper jam as soon as i got it - this is the thrid one ive been given and it too says paper jam. I cant afford a new printer so please dont tell me to buy one! I was wondering if there was anything else i could be checking that im not doing !! help !
There are a lot of paper sensor in it. i dont say buy new one , check sensors where they are and try to clean

If the issue persists even after performing the above steps, please try with different type of paper. If the issue persists, then it will be a hardware failure and please contact the nearest Authorized Service Provider to repair this unit.

Note: HP PhotoSmart C4280 all in one is not a Laser Printer but a ink jet printer. :)
As for the cartridge jam try resetting the printer. Open it up, make sure there is not jam. Move the carriage over if necessary, hit OK. Then turn the printer off. Go to your computer and remove any documents from the print queue. Then, with the computer still plugged into the printer, turn the printer on.
Some HP printers have a switch on the back of them that has to be reset, by opening and closing the "paper jam" door. If that doesn't work try cutting the power for a few seconds, and plug it back in.
