Never do things like that.did your ds lite come with a ac adapter?did you check in the box?if not call the nintendo experts 1-800-255-3700.they will either take it out and send it back to you or give you a new one (and u must pay if they cannot take it out)

US Nintendo DS-Lite with converter problems in South Africa

Hi,

It should work straight out with a step down transformer. That is of course if the mains supply in South Africa is 240 240 and the unit being American is 110.

This is of course not unless it was initially tried without a transformer or stepdown converter which would mean that the charger/adapter has been fried and therefore damaged.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I have plugged it in with a uk adapter but its not

US has different voltage to UK. You need a step down transformer in order to get the correct UK voltage.

To use Nintendo DS lite in India

The easiest solution is to buy a UK one and buy a UK-to-India plug adapter.
They use the same voltage as the UK (240 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second [50 Hertz]).

Using a US adapter in India could blow the adapter or DS.

Charger stuck in ds lite

Gently wiggle the charger from side to side, not too much incase you break the pins. it may be a little stiff to start with. Apply a fair amount of force and have lots of patience : )

Hope this helps,

Nintendo DS Adapter

You'll need an adapter that works in your country. If once you have that it still does not work then you probably need a new battery. Without a working battery you won't be able to play the DS even if the charger is plugged in. The charging light will flash and go out if the battery is bad.

Using an European (220 volt) DS Lite Console in America (110 volt)

Yes this can be charged using a 110 volt with no problems. However you do need the outlet conversion plug in order for you to be able to plug it in to your wall. These can be bought at any major electronics store in your area.
