i lost my driver of sound card how can i install it again my soun card model is CMI8738-6CH

Make sure your audio drivers are uninstall (if you can but, not required), and install Driver Max software. Do a google search and install the driver max software. This software automatically detects all the hardware components in your computer
and help you install the relevant drivers This works real good for emachines.
To solve your problem, I need to know what copy of OS do you have?
Recovery disks are a must have for your system do you have recovery disks?
Go here and you should be able to buy some relatively cheap if you don't have them but first, I need to know if the OS?

What audio driver does it say it you have?
If you are connected to the internet you can try updating the audio drivers by going to control panel-system-hardware-device driver-Sound and Video and game controller- Intel Audio Controller or some audio component like that. If there is one then go to action-update driver and right click. It should say install automatically and select next and just follow installation. You can also try updating all your other audio devices too because, you can always go back to the original driver if needed..
Please comment on OS software and audio devices name or maker, would help me solve this for you. Thank you.

- So, that is the problem! You have a audio card that is for Xp/2000 or Windows 7 and is not compatible with Vista. And your emachine should only have Vista on it. My instructions is for Xp but, is similar to Vista. That is no reason to give us 2 thumbs up because, you have the wrong audio card.
