My realtek audio driver ac 97 is not getting installed. everytime i am trying...just doesnt.could it be registry prob?whats happeneing

click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound,video and game controllers you might see a yellow question / exclamation? ! mark or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers or if you don't have a disk with the sound drivers you need download the drivers

click start control panel sounds and audio volume advanced speakers make sure you have selected the

(appropriate speakers) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there

click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it

generally when you install any drivers , after installing successfully the system will restart. i think you are not installing your correct sound drivers. Install your sound card drivers from the motherboard CD. If you lost your motherboard CD , then go to this website www.drivermax.com . Install the software,it will automatically detect your hardware devices and installs the correct drivers .

i need to install a software for my sound card realtek ac,97

I had to format and reinstall XP.When I run the driver (Realtek 97 AC), it warns me that it is not passed windows compatibility testing but I continue and it get about 90-95% complete when my computer restarts. help!!!!!

that means your audio driver might have been already installed if not so just download the ac 97 audio driver from internet [ search "realtek ac97 driver" in google] nd install it... that will solve the prob

did you uninstall the old drivers before you install the new one? try to un-install it first by right clicking the audio device then select un-install, restart, then install the driver, restart and try to see if it works.
