Power led remains lit at all times with battery or power plugged in. Fans turn on when powered on but no system response. Was able to get system to power on by compressing laptop above and below DVD with a lot of force. The computer would remain on. System will not respond at all. Appears to be a mechanical problem?

Ok you have laptop. Look for a key called "Fn" it should be around the ctrl or alt key on your keyboard. Try pressing that. After trying to turn it on and it wont. press the Fn key. The last time you were able to use the laptop how did you shut it down? Did you tell it by going threw the menu when logged on. Or just pressed the button? Or did you tell it to shut down then you closed the screen/lid before it actually shut down? Laptops will go into stand by after you tell it to shut down if you dont wait til it shuts down, before shutting the lid. ALso depending on the laptop company you have Trying to figure out which one it is. They have program installed with your system. And depending on how it's set up, will greatly effect how or even IF your laptop will shut down right.

ML350 G4 will not boot. System was running but became unresponsive. Powered down using power button. Now no response to pushing power button. No Leds lit anywhere. Fans running on power supplies.

Try pulling the hot swap Power supplies, push the power button hole the supplies are out to discharge power, then put them back in again and try the power button again.

Hp Proliant ML350 g4 will not power on. System was on but not responding so used power button to shut down. Now no response to pressing power button. No LEDs lit anywhere. Fans running on power supplies.

sounds like the motherboard has gone.... you could try changing the PSU and popping out some of the ram boards to see if that helps. but with the symptoms you've said, i'd say its the motherboard.

My sony xperia T will not charge

Success story. Disclaimer I haven't notice any damage or
loss of data, However I take no responsibility for any damage or loss of data
that may occur.

My girlfriend has a xperia T and did let it go flat, since
then it didn't appear to charge or switched on.

I had tried allsorts suggested on various websites such as
plugging charger in and out a few times, leaving in charger for 24 hr, plugging
into laptop, and trying to power up with power button and volume up. Red light
sometimes lighting up or flashing but not staying lit.

After playing around with all of the above methods, I
noticed if I kept my finger on power while plugging into the charger or laptop
the red led stayed on until I let go. So I tied an elastic band around the
phone on the power button, then I plugged in the charger, unplugging it,
plugging in again with volume up pressed until I had the red led lit. Not sure
of which combination I did but just when the led was lit (not flashing). I left
it for a few hours while it was plugged in with the elastic band keeping
pressure on the power button. Came back to it and found the phone on and
battery at 100%.

Hope this helps some of you

NO Post test beep.- no boot screen

Could be a dead PSU, mother board or CPU to me.

First check the power source, are all connections good and switches on.

Assuming so, are there any led's lit anywhere on the tower when you turn it on or any fans turning other than the PSU fan.

If there are no fans, including the PSU, then the PSU has failed, if there are fans and led's lit then turn it off, remove power source, remove the cover and check whether the PSU is properly connected to the mother board properly (Large multi-pin plug) if it is connected properly,

After this, you need proper test equipment.

Will not Power Up. I hit the Power button, green LED lights up for about 3 seconds (cooling fans start), but then shuts down. The battery is 3 months old, and the Power Supply is working.

Remove the battery and the power adapter. Now just plug in the power adapter and boot the laptop. Will it boot and remain on? If so then the battery is faulty. If not try a different power adapter, the worst case is that the system has failed. -Ravi Shanghavi

HP altec lansing Pavillon DV 6700 not powering

I am sorry to say that this is likely to be motherboard damage. The only other possibility is the the Power jack on the laptop itself is loose or shorted.

Either way.. You need a qualified repair.

The safe bet is a new motherboard.
