Unit Won't Turn On

Gave a MyMusix PD-6070 to my nephew for Christmas. Low and behold the unit won't work. Charged the battery, press the power button and the only thing that happens is the display shows MyMusix then powers off. Pressing the reset button had no effect. Now what?

It wouldn't turn on. I plugged it into my pc and now it indicates that it is recharging. I can't get it to do anything else so I guess it has to do that first. I found the package was already open and there is country music in it that shows up on my pc but won't play. So I will wait until recharge and try again. No idea how long that takes. The instruction book has no info on recharge. Tells me to push the same button the same way to get different results to run it so no wonder I am having problems.

I found some directions on mymusix.com. Basically, it recharges through the USB connection so plug it into the computer. Then wait for the little battery picture to be full to indicate the battery is charged. I am waiting...
If you don't even get a picture of a battery, you have a bigger problem. Check the website for adding firmware (under FAQs, under the 6070) and if that doesn't work, you might need to take it back to Radioshack and tell them. They seem to be good about taking things back..I think the one I bought is a return since it already has music on it. Not sure if that is good or bad.

Charging mp3 player

If your MP3 has an inbuilt Li-Ion battery (e.g. no compartment for a standard/Ni-MH AAA battery), then connecting the player to your computer will normally charge it - this is the case for the PD-6070 'stick' player. Your player will also indicate that it is being charged (or not charged!) via the battery level/power indicator which is located on the top RHS.
Hope it helps!

Reseting now wont charge or turn on

Y'all should go to http://www.mymusix.com and download the "player update" (among other tools) to solve this problem. I just bought a returned one today from Radio Shack and had to spend over an hour to get it calibrated properly. It was pretty crazy...I had to press down on "play" and the "reset" buttons simultaneously and then plug in the USB cable, let go of "reset" and then let go of "play" once the "player update" software recognized the darn thing. It's now working perfectly and actually a great deal for $20.

Hopefully you can use the FAQ section on mymusix.com and figure it out exactly, otherwise I'd be happy to give you the step-by-step instructions I followed.

MP3 not charging

If this player has a reset button, you can press that button.
If it doesn't have one, you are required to download a firmware.
You can also contact the vendor of this player.

How do i turn on my pd-6070 player

Hold down the "Play" Button and this also turns it off.

If you hold down the M button that gives you a menu and acts as the "enter" button. The play button is the "back" button and the left and right scroll is that scrolls.

Recharging mp3

Whenever the PD-6070 is connected to a PC, it will charge. The battery indicator on the OLED screen will slowly fill over and over as it is charging. When the charging is complete, the battery indicator will stay filled.
