I have a Sabrent 2.5" IDE Hard Drive Enclosure --I just bought it. I put my disk into it, but when I try to use it I get "Cannot read--I/O Device Error". I am running this on a Dell Latitude D620 which is an XP system. The Sabrent shows up on my Windows Explore list as being connected, but I cannot see any files..just get I/O Error..what is wrong?

- Yes, the disk is formatted, it has data from my old laptop on it. We did load the software and we still get I/O Error. Does this mean the drive is no good?Best Solution

Did you format the disk using NTFS? Have you loaded the software that came with the drive? Once the software is loaded it will take you thu the steps to set it up properly
