My nephew dropped his psp and now it doesnt work

from age or if someting is stuck in it

The motherboard inside the unit is very fragile, it is possible several key components have become dislodged and so the unit will no longer work.

check if the battery is not loose and properly seated, other than that, it could be some internal hardware issues that needs to be seen by a technician.

Before you do anything, check and see if the PSP is still under warranty if you want to fix it this way.

Sounds like the screen is either damaged, or the connection has become undone. Try CPR in NYC, they do repairs in house, and usually have them done within a week. You could ship your unit directly to them.

Try taking out your battery, plug the charger in, put in your battery again... turn PSP on.
Works for me!

the way 2 know if tis charging is wen u plug in ur charger 2 ur psp on da right a orange light should appear and stay ther eas long as its charging . wen it goes away it should be blank. if this doesnt happen on urs i dont know why. it should have come wiv a anual in ur psp box unless u have bought a used 1 from someone in dat case dey mite have not given 2 u for whatever reason. i hope dis helped=)

It sounds like a power supply problem. either your battery or the internal power source is defected do to the drop.. or maybe u didnt charge your battery. On one of my psps i have to wiggle around the ac adaptor to make sure its charging sometimes

If he bought it from best buy, ask for a two year reeplacment plan. after that, you tell them what happend to your psp. by the way, the replacment plan is only $29.99. They will either try to fix it, or they will give you a new psp, the same exact type as you said psp slim, for free. But heres a catch. after you use the replacment plan once, you may not be able to use it again. good luck. P.S. what happend to your nephew, is what happend to me.

it sounds like you have a docking station? if so try using the charger that came with it.(make sure whatever the charger is plugged into has power and dont assume if its on a power stip and other things that are plugged have power doesnt mean one outlet on the strip can go bad. If trying another charger doesnt work try a new battery keep the reciept in case it still doesnt so you can return the battery. If none of these tips help then your psp (MAY) have taken a crash.
