I
I have the same exact TV, with the same problem!
I found out that Zenith has a class action litigation open thru July 2010
Your Optic Light Engine is Defective and Zenith has to replace it for free
Or give you a new 50" Plasma or 44" LCD.
Here is the link with all the details ** http://www.zenithservice.com/index_b2c.jsp
Call the service center and let them know what your problem is and that you know
about the litigation. They will have a tech call you and troubleshoot it over the phone.
Then they will order the Light Engine and have a Tech come to your house and
replace it. It will cost you nothing!!!

Your light engine is contaminated with dirt. This is a common problem especially in houses where someone smokes. The light engine will have to be replaced.

Hopefully, you have an extended warranty. if not--figure at LEAST 600 to fix.

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!

Blue shadow

No. I would suspect it being a Optical Block issue. I is not a pretty repair not to mention the cost factor. If you could get in touch with Hitachi Customer Service they could lead you to s service facility that could comfirm what I think.

Zenith M52W56LCD picture is turning green.

The light engine on your set is burned out.
This is a very complex replacement.
I hope your tv is under warranty repair cause it is expensive.
It happens because the heat from he lamp over time burns out the lcd's that create th ed and blue leaving the gren which is always furthest from the lightbulb (YOUR tv has four lcd's in a row..red, blue, gren and then black.
If you wish to try and replace it yourself there are places online where you can buy a replacement engine.

Blue spots and blue specks

If you haven't heard yet, there is a class action lawsuit against LG/Zenith for this very problem. They are extending the warranty on certain models. Call Zenith at 800-243-0000 and press the prompt for electronics. Here is a link to the their website regarding the lawsuit.

I just happened to check the website. I've had the blue blob for over a year now. Looks like I will be getting a free repair ! You can also get reimbursed if you paid for a repair for this problem. It is a faulty light engine. Good Luck!

Zenith M52W56LCD blue spot in center of screen

It could be as simple as dust contamination in the LE or lcd chip. You need a clean room to work on this area of the unit and NOTHING you can do there would make that possible, short of spending a few thousand to build one. Before we added a clean room enviroment we simply pulled the LE and sent it in to PTS - who has one and reinstalled...
In your case take it to a qualified shop and you'll save yourself a lot of grief..
