Just had my color cartridge refilled, and reinstalled correctly. However, the printer will not print with the color cartridge in, but will print with the black cartridge only.

The refiller should have checked function after the refill on a test strip, but that is not always duplicate the amount of ink necessary when actually printing. Suggest removing the cartridge and doing a "test swipe" on a moisted piece of T-paper or moist towellette. Always wipe perpendicular, never across the head, for a 1/2 to 1 inch length.

Lines should indicated solid, true colors. In order to get some idea what you should be seeing you should do this test swipe on a new cartridge before installing it.

SOURCE: hp 3550 printer color cartridge printing but black not printing

try to clean the black cart :

# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

Had refill at Costco for hp 4620 printer 564 cartridge and now printer will not print in color. What do I do to make it print?u

That's means you didn't refill the colour ink properly.
Try this method, use the injection to draw any of the colour of about 2mm of the refill you bought, inject it into one of the tiny holes of the cartridge and draw a little back so as to remove the dirt in the foam inside the cartridge.. That's all

How to install the ink

Open the front cover on the printer. The print cartridges should slide on a conveyor belt from one far end of the print chamber to near the center. There should be one black ink cartridge and one color cartridge.
Remove the cartridges from the printer. This should simply involve grabbing and pulling the cartridges out. There may be a flap holding the cartridges in place that you need to flip up first. Or you may need to press down on the cartridges to spring them out of place.
Decide on replacing the cartridges with a brand new ones or refilling the existing cartridges. Refilling the cartridges can cost less money in the long-term and reduce waste, while new cartridges will guarantee to work and have the most ink up front.
Refill the cartridges with fresh ink in order to reuse them. With black cartridges, you need to drill or melt a hole in the cartridge lid, while you will remove the lid to find the color cartridge's holes. Inject the correct color ink with a plastic syringe bottle. Reseal the lid on a color cartridge after refilling.
Dispose of the cartridges properly after you purchase new ones. Take the old cartridges with you to whichever store you get the new ones from. Not only will this help you find the correct replacements, but the store may also take the old cartridges for recycling.
Insert the new or refilled cartridges into your printer. New cartridges likely have protective tape over the print head that you'll need to remove. Run a test print on the computer to make sure that the cartridges properly work
Check to see if the printer still reads the cartridges as being empty (if you are reusing a refilled one). This will be due to a chip in the cartridges that the printer reads for the ink level. It doesn't change just because you refilled the cartridges. You must purchase an electronic device that will reset the chip for you.

Bland and color cartridges have been refilled but

Ink level counter (program) didn't read actually ink at ink tank. Brand new cartridge ink level counter 100% (full), and ink 100% (about 10 ml). After may printing, ink will dry out, and ink level counter reach zero (ink out). Printer will not allow print anymore, even have refilled, because ink level read "ink out". For canon type, you just to release ink level counter, and counter just stop, but printer will allow to print. Press stop/reset button for about 30 second.

Refilled pixma MP210 color cartridge. Now my printer will not print any color at all, only black

Maybe your printer cartridge that has been refilled got ink clogged. You can bring it to the store where you can let them clean it for you. It must be free for cleaning since it was refilled from them. Hope this help.

You can also clean your cartridge by following my instructions below:
BEFORE DOING BELOW INSTRUCTIONS,TRY TO CLEAN YOU CARTRIDGE FIRST USING THE DEEP CLEAN FEATURE OF YOUR PRINTER, THEN USE PRINT NOOZLE CHECK PATTERN.

1. Uninstall your cartridge.
2. Get a tissue paper.
3. Try to put the printer head over a small piece of tissue paper.

If you will see the three colors in the tissue(Cyan-close to blue, Magenta-close to red, and Yellow). It means it was not clogged, the problem is the chip of your color cartridge and needs to be replaced. But if the colors are blur and or nothing appears, it means the printhead of your cartridge is clog. You can proceed to step 4.

4. Try to put a little amount of water in a small piece of tissue paper and soak the printer head for a 2 min. Then remove it after.
5. Wipe the printer head with a dry tissue paper.
6. Reinstall the cartridge back to the printer.
7. Print a 4 basic colors, RED, BLUE, YELLOW and BLACK.
8. Clean the printer using the cleaning feature of your printer.
9. You can use deep cleaning twice. And Print a noozle print.
10. Hope it could help.

Color cartridge wont print

The color cartridge is defective. Sometimes, when the printer detects a refilled cartridge, it "marks" the cartridge as defective hence the refilled cartridge will not work on any printer.
