My child put a new game in this morning and the game froze, she turned it off thinking that it was maybe something wrong with the game. she then removed the game and nothing plays or come up on the screen. that thought it may not be fully charged or something. she then charged the psp, it turned on with green light and then it goes off meantime the screen is still black, nothing comes up on the screen at all.

You have a compatiblity problem. You now cannot control your firmware version. You cannot back rev the firmware. I would suggest you get something called a Pandora Battery. They are cheap, and give you full control over what firmware you want to run, and can even run custom firmware.
hi.. Have you upgraded the firmware? if not go to sony's site and download
the firmware and from there load it to your memory stick and update.
this should resolve the issue. you can also update the system if you
are wireless and can get internet access on your psp. if this does not
work get in toutch with sony thay will advise you wether it can be fixed or if you need a new on..
My sons had this happen to him this morning... we tried to reset and hard reset... nothing worked... after seeing a bunch of postings about the laser, I used a pen to move move the laser with the unit off... I just pushed it sideways and slid it out of position a bit... anyway, it worked... it's almost like the laser was just stuck...
