..Try to connect it to your computer and see if you can access the files, if that doesn't solve it bring it back, they'll hopefully give you a new one or fix it.

Screen is off. It's frozen.

Holding the power button for 20 seconds should reset it.  Otherwise, there are many solutions on the support page here.

Reformat the whole thing with Rockbox. That's the whole point with buying the Sansa, as far as I understand.

Entering recovery mode is not possible

Disengage the lock switch, then try this: Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware.
Wizard.

Wont go past starting screen PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted. http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool. - Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer. Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted. FYI, if you are using music from Limewire or other P2P sites, they are to blame. They are usually poorly encoded and cause the device to freak out. Best of Luck.
