Question about ATI RADEON 9700 PRO (128 MB) Graphic Card

1 Answer

Radeon 9700 Pro Family

My 9700 Pro Family has had some problems with the screen having blacks and white lines in front of the screen. Instead of the monitor showing the regular screen, it just looks like a zebra. I have switched monitors so I am sure its the video card. How should I go about fixing it. Thanks for any help.

Remove your card. Clean the AGP slot & the video card. Reinstall the card. Still having trouble. Download the latest driver, below: Befor you install the latest driver package. Update windows. You will need .Netframwork ver. 2.0. Uninstall your current driver through Control Panel, ADD/Remove programs.
If the uninstall fails download and run ATI's uninstall utility:

Comparable cards to the ATI All In Wonder 9700 Pro 128 MB

Hello there. The Radeon 9700 Pro was a high end graphics card in its time. Today the latest Radeon cards are 3870X2, 3870 and 3850 models. The 3850, while mid-high end range, would be a substantial upgrade from the Radeon 9700 Pro.

If you are planning to upgrade your system, make sure you choose the correct type of card (AGP/PCI-E) and that your current system has a good enough power supply to power a new upgrade.

Hope this helps.

Swap 9800 Pro for 9700 Pro

You must uninstall the current driver and reinstall the driver for the 9800 Pro first:
Power supply recommended is 300watt for each, so that is not a factor. It would have to be a driver conflict.
