Question about Cherokee Jeep Grand - RBB AM/FM Stereo Radio w/Cassette Player and integrated CD Changer Controls
Have a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4x4, 4.0 liter. It hesitates occasionally while driving down the road. It also occasionally goes dead and backfires while taking off from stoplights. I have replaced the distributor, crank sensor, wires and plugs, coil, and battery. Any ideas? I am extremely frustrated!
Have someone get behind you and see if they can smell rotten eggs. It could be the 02 sensor going bad. Is the check engine light coming on? Also try to change the fuel filters. There should be two. One by the fuel tank and one on the firewall. They are very inexpensive and could be the cause of all the trouble. If that doesn't work, I would suggest hauling it off to the car crusher.
