Sony SDM-HS73 Not Staying On
Problem for Sony SDM-HS73P (Black, Silver) 17" LCD Monitor
My monitor turns on but then goes black after
My monitor turns on but then goes black after about 10 seconds, I quickly turn it off and back on and then screen is fine for 10 seconds. Sometimes I can fix it by gently tapping the on/off button...but now that doesn't seem to work. A local repairman said it sounds like it needs a new power inverter. He recommends just buying a new monitor. My monitor is about 6 years old. Any advice?

It could also just be the button is faulty... but a 6 year monitor is going to start throwing more and more problems at you.
Go to eBay.com and treat yourself to a nice new monitor - they are very cheap these days.
