My HTC touch has been wroking without any problems for over two years now. Yesterday suddenly I get a message (when I started up) that "there is problem with making a connection to the GPRS service of the registered home network." Furthermore there is a message on the main screen stating: Problem report "Error with the set up of socket (80070006) and the screen of my phone is not wokring any more. With the keys I can still get some functions to work, but the screen functions do not work I tried a full reset; without any result Any suggestions what to do [email protected]

I think phone needs software reset. Below is the link about performing soft reset and hard reset on HTC touch. Try soft reset first. if it doesn't work, try hard reset. If after hard reset still no success, try to flash firmware. But I think hard reset can resolve the problem. Note, that hard reset will delete the storage entirely, so backup any data befor performing those manipulations.
I had this problem ,also no notifications of voicemail as well as not being able to acces the messaging screen. I was just about to send the handset in for repair and decided to remove the 4gb micro sd card .turned the phone off ,removed the card,turned it on again ,bam messaging works again !! hope this can help someone else too :-)
hi to all please do not disconnect your mobile from PC at the time of Syncronisation in process. or it may happen when ur pc goes to shutdown automatically at the time of syncronisation
