Armitron mens watch band link removal

I just received an Armitron watch as a gift. It is a little too big and I want to remove a few links. I do not know the model number but it is a metallic silver band, the face is blue it has both analog and digital time. The band has about 5 links that on the underside show an arrow pointing towards the middle. On one side of each pin is a slot about the size of a small flathead screwdriver and the other side is a square pin approx 1 mm in size.
