Gamer Profile..."unreadable disk"??

I bought a slightly used Xbox 360 for Christmas present for son. I tested with a game & without touching controller, it played intro to game. This morning, it will not & asks for "gamer Profile", which it will not let us enter. It also says "unplayable disk"...but disk games are brand new. I have no instructions with game set up. HELP!!

You have to create a gamer profile by clicking the "guide button" thats the button on the middle of the controled in between start and back after you clik that in the bottom left or right it should say press x y a or b on the controller to create a profile.

about the unreadable disk you may need to call 1-800-4myxbox they are microsofts professionals and will help to fix your problem.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Hi my xbox 360 keeps telling me to open tray after a disc is inserted. it says reading then it says open tray.

1: Take a close look at the bottom side of your game, movie, or music disc (the side without a label or image). Are there scratches? Excessive scratches or smudges can prevent your console from reading the disc. Hold the disc by the edges without touching the top or bottom surfaces. Using a soft, clean, slightly damp cloth, lightly wipe from the center of the disc outward. 2: Try other discs to determine whether the problem happens with any disc or only with this particular disc. If multiple game discs, DVDs, or CDs will not play: Make sure the media type and the disc region code are compatible with the console. 3: If your Xbox 360 console can't play multiple game discs, try clearing your system cache. Here's how: On the console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings. Select Memory. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.Select Clear System Cache. If you still can't play a game disc, try the next solution. 4: If the solutions above did not resolve your problem, please send Microsoft your Xbox 360 console for repair..

Brand new xbox and fable 2 disc. Will not play!

This will surely lead to the red ring of death people are talking about, i got that the other day, sent my xbox to microsoft and they fixed it for me for free, But you cant have your warranty sticker broken or they wont touch it. Microsoft will fix it for free since it is a problem for nearly all the xbox 360 they made.

My son saved money and bought a Xbox 360 Arcade. He did not realize that he could not play his xbox games on his new system. Is there an upgrade to allow old xbox games to be played on on the xbox 360

Some game are compatible with the new xbox 360. They are called backwards compatible and you do need to flash upgrade the OS on the new xbox 360 system.

You need to go to the xbox website and go to support and download the flash update then burn it to disk and put it on the xbox to update the software. Again not all old games are compatible with the new xbox system. If your buying used games like I do make sure it says bc next to the title before buying them.
Here is the link to the upgrade

Xbox 360 scratched disk

Hi

If the xbox is under warranty ( Microsoft has extended coverage on those) , have Microsoft fix it.
If it's older , you'll need to find a service that fixes 360s
If the case seal is broken Microsoft wont cover any warranty issues
