The upper rack has a captive washer with a lug that stops the top drawer from falling out. Use a torch, identify the captive washer that is connected to the rear wheel on each side if the drawer, remove these and the draw will come out
Our upper wheel failed. It is part of the huge assembly called the "Rack Adjust" on our model # PLD4460REC Frigidaire Dishwasher and cost $88 to $120. Hey.. thanks to the guy above I was able to fix my machine without spending to much!! for a huge part when all I needed was the upper wheel. the part # for the upper wheels is = PS976006 and is for another model dishwasher (Sears located it for me first.. without trying to make me buy the huge assembly) but might work... I will order and give them a try. The model # referenced about seems to be incorrect... We used model # PLD2855RFC1... as google helped us fill in the missing part# letters. I asked frigidaire... why they encouraged customers to borrow this small part from the store display.. why not just sell it!! .;)
Hello. If you have a new rack and new wheels the only fix to your problem is to either replace the dishwasher all together or NOT put as many items in the bottom rack. I am always bothered when anyone tells me they were sold a new rack because they are so expensive [usually over one hundred dollars] and generally once the racks start to go, the rest of the dishwasher is not far behind. j.
WHOOPS - turns out on that same diagram #24 is actually the top baaket.... and is $230.
I would think you could get an entire dishwasher for that price :D

The upper rack is held by four side brackets. They are not removable unless you pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet. Not very homeowner friendly.
