I am trying to add a sound bar to this model tv any suggestions as to a compatible one?

Hello:
The Philips 32PFL3504D TV has several audio outputs that are are compatible with sound bars. You want to be looking for a sound bar with a Digital Coax audio input.
For example: http://www.amazon.com/Sharp-HTSB300-System-Digital-Decoding/dp/B001R4CJS4
A Digital Coax audio input looks like an RCA jack and is usually colored orange.

I've just bought a philips blu ray player (BDP3000) and connected to my Philips 42PF9631D Plasma using an HDMI cable but no sound comes through. Any ideas?

Hi,

I would suggest few options for you to get the audio back. I hope video is coming out correctly?.

1. Select the proper HDMI input where you connected BDP.
2. Set the HDMI audio set up to ON/bitstream(do not select OFF).
3. If the Digital Audio Output set up is available select PCM/ALL and not OFF.
3. If you have connected external amplifier pls..remove this?
4. Are you playing a DVD/BD with normal Dolby content or DTS content? Because some TV sets do not have the decoders to decode the DTS content hence there would be no sound.

Let me know if you still have problems

Sound dubbing seems off

Is this only on some movies? Look to see in your options is you have and decoder settings. What audio format do you prefer, DTS or Dolby?
Sometimes you may get a unit in which the decoder is faulty. If you have warranty options, first use those to get you a new unit.
