Re: sansa e280

You have a version 2 player. If you look at the back of your player in the bottom right hand corner, you will see v2 in tiny letters after the e280. When the v2 players first came out, they didn't have the USB option. About 2 weeks ago Sandisk came out with a firmware update 3.01.14, which returns the USB option. Go to:  download the sansa firmware updater, follow the instructions and it will upgrade your firmware to get your USB option.
If your have any further questions or problems with your player go to the sansa e200 forum for additional help:

I re-formatted my Sansa e280 and now my computer does not recognize it. I am wanting to transfer music files only, using Windows Media Player.

Try to reset the device and if there is any driver for it, install them before connecting it to the computer.

My Sansa e280 is not downloading my playlists from Windows Media. I have tried dragging and dropping the playlists from my computer music folder to the Sansa folder and it still will not write to the mp3...

The Sansa e280 can be operated in 2 ways of USB connection modes: MSC or MTP.

In MSC mode, viewing the player as a removable disk, the "copy
and paste" or "drag and drop" method will work.
In MSC mode always through the "safely remove hardware" icon, click to remove the player's disk before taking out the USB cable.

In MTP mode, operating the player in software like Windows Media Player: under Library or Sync,
first create a playlist
next sync the playlist.
In MTP mode, follow up the warning or text in the software that gives permission when to disconnect the player.

SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player with Mac? Is there any driver to make it compatible with Mac platform? Thank you

NOTE: MAC computers do NOT support MTP modes of USB conectivity in a MP player. A Sansa player in MTP mode when plugged into a MAC computer will NOT be detected or recognized. MAC computers supports Sansa players in MSC mode Sansa players can only be recognized by a MAC if the USB mode on the Sansa player is set to Auto Detect or MSC.
Check in the System Profiler Open System Profiler from the Utilities folder, which is inside the Applications folder. From the Contents column on the left, under the Hardware header, select USB; the panel to the right will show all the USB devices that the computer recognizes. It may not identify them correctly by name, but it should have the right number of devices listed. . Navigate to USB Mode settings. Sansa View - From the Main Menu, select More > Settings/Options > System Settings > USB Mode.
Sansa Fuze and Sansa Clip+ - From the Main Menu, select Settings > System Settings > USB Mode.
Sansa Clip, e200v1 series, e200v2 series and e200R - From the Main Menu, select Settings > USB Mode.
2. Select Auto Detect, MTP or MSC. e200R - PlayforSure is MTP and Rhapsody is MSC

My Sansa m240 is saying there is no music on it when i plug it in the computer the music is really still there...what do i do?

Look for changing the USB mode of the device to MSC or MTP
Go to USB Mode settings. if you have a Sansa View - From the Main Menu, select More -> Settings/Options -> System Settings -> USB Mode.
if you have a Sansa Fuze - From the Main Menu, select Settings > System Settings > USB Mode.
if you have a Sansa Clip, e200v1 series, e200v2 series and e200R - From the Main Menu, select Settings > USB Mode.
Select Auto Detect, MTP or MSC. e200R - PlayforSure is MTP and Rhapsody is MSC
NOTE: The USB mode is not selectable for Sansa View (FW 1.03.XX and below), Sansa e200v2 (FW 03.01.14 and below), and Sansa Clip (FW 1.01.11 and below). The USB Mode setting can be enabled on these players using a firmware update.

I've sansa E280 problem is connecting to pc in mtp mode

You can download the software from this page, the options are on the right hand side of this page.

In order to get your Sansa connected, I would change from MTP to MSC and see if your PC recognizes the player then, as it should.
If you go into the settings menu and choose USB Mode and from there you can change to MSC from MTP. If you have one of those models that don't have a USB Mode option, then do the following to change to MSC:
(The model number followed by v2 on the back-bottom require this method) you have to turn it on, put the hold switch on, then hold the LEFT button |<< THEN plug it into the PC.

When I try to sync my Sansa E280 to WMP 11 it shows error report.

It could be the mode you are in.

MTP mode seems to not synce with WMP.

But MSC mode works.

Go to settings>USB Mode>MSC

Should work!

Sansa E280 isn't recognized by Vista

I have a e250 and it works great with my laptop which is running window vista. One thing i do remember missing with is the usb setting on the mp3 player. Maybe you can try switching between the usb opinions to see if that will fix your problem. the usb setting screen is under "setting", "usb mode".

PC won't detect sansa e280 please help me

I had the same prob with my e280 yesterday and i bought it 4 days ago. I'm using a vista o.s. and i found a way to transfer files this morning. if you are using a vista os you should first set your sansa to MTP mode so that your windows media player can detect your e280 then you can start synching. If you are using XP o.s. there shouldn't be any prob with that but you have to switch to MSC mode. you can find these settings on the setting menu of your e280 then USB can also open the E280 player if you see it on "my computer" there you can transfer the files.don't use your wmp player when you are doing this on vista cuz the wmp player will also synch at the same time and it will synch the same file.
