Question about ASUS P4PE Motherboard

Not powering up

I had a p4pe working perfectly. Then my powersupply failed. Bought a new powersupply, and the motherboard worked almost perfectly. The only problem was taht the USB-ports did not work. Everything was ok when I checked the system. Bios was ok, I tried to disable them to make the computer find them during startup. It did, and installed the ports again, but they still didn't work.

I assumed that the power-crash had damaged something, so I managed to get a brand new p4pe. Yes I know it sound strange to buy a new p4pe in 2007, but I thought this would make everything easy and cheap. (i.e. same prosessor, same RAM and so on)

I set up the motherboard in the same matter as the old one, connected all hardware and got a green light. But when I turn it on, hardly anything happens. The fans starts but that is about all. No signal to the screen, I'm not able to open any cd/dvd drives. As you understand, I'm not able to get into BIOS to see if there is something wrong.

I have not tried to remove all hardware yet, I thought this should work easily... Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: Not powering up

First test the MB with only the minimal components (ie. cpu + ram + vga card if not onboard). Disconnect all other components. If still not starting, try using just a single ram module, if you have more than one, to try & determine if one of them is faulty.

Need to replace button battery on asus p4pe

Hello the manual can be downloaded here:

Select first your windows system.
Open the manual folder and click on global for download.
Unzip the file and you need adobe reader to read the content.

The cmos battery (C2032) should hold the power for at least 5 years.
The power rating is 3,3 volts.
When the battery power is lost the bios can`t remember the settings
and you have to enter the bios clock settings and etc. everytime you turn on the pc.

The battery looks like this:

This type of battery can be bought almost everywhere.
The battery type is called ( C2032 )

You have to setup the bios settings when you change the battery
and take antistatic precautions when working on the mainboard.

Good luck

PC with motherboard foxconn 661fx7mi-s NOT POWER ON, NOTHING

Good day, there are several things that can cause your motherboard to not power on. Most likely your PC is shorted on the casing. You should do. 1. Remove the entire motherboard out of its casing, IDE cable, front panel connectors, USB cables and the powersupply as well. 2. On a table, assemble the motherboard and powersupply. 3. place the memory on the board. 4. connect your monitor and keyboard. 5. power on your PC. do this by shorting power switch jumper on the front panel conncetor. Does your PC turned on? check your power supply fan? any beeps. if still nothing happens this is a serious Motherboard problem. better buy another. hope this helps. feel free to send me updates on your pc. thanks

Power switch notworking ( ASUS P4PE-X Motherboard)

Please refer your motherboard manual and fix the front panel cable including power button. After this if power button is not working than swap the power button cable and reset button cable.

And then start your PC by pressing the reset button.

Else you just recheck all the cable + RAM + CPU.

I bought a 1GB samsung PC2700 DDR memory for P4PE motherboard. After installed it, the PC could not started. Is that memroy compatible for P4PE?

This page lists the type of ram that is compatible with your system, pay close attention to the voltage.

Take the part number from the stick you're trying to install and punch it into Google to see what the exact specs are.You may find that the voltage is different...

Note: I am not affiliated with the linked vendor it's for illustrative purposes only.
