Hello sometimes its a av power cable error and some times its your graphics chip best bet is to take your av cable into a game shop or if you got a mate who has a 360 try it on his and see if it is the av cable 5that has failed if not its your graphics and you will have to get it repaired

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Xbox 360 error e74

Be aware that MS will not repaird the e74 for free (even though they should - it's becomming almost as common a faul as the 3 lights!).

I've got it, I fixed it with a heat gun for a few days then it went completely.

Xbox is now in bin and i'm £300 down.

E74: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement

Xbox 360 e74 error

Having the e-74 code is when the video chip on the 360 over heats and becomes un soldered your best bet is to turn the 360 on with a towel over it and wait for 3 red lights the call microsoft and tell them the 3 lights issue dont mention the 1 light or it will cost you dearly around 150$
