Cannot record from a camcorder

RCA says HELLO. RCA = "Real **** Always"

Have used this brand new VCR to DVD recorder model DRC 8312 for about 30 minutes playing a tape last night. Now it just locks up with HELLO. (Guess "I'M A PIECE OF WORTHLESS ****" wouldn't fit on the display)
My suggested fix: Use prybar or bolt cutters to get your tape out. Then use sledgehammer to pound this RCA product into a million pieces. Never again RCA.
