Problem for HP Compaq Presario SR1620NX (SR1620NXEG733AA) PC Desktop
Tried to install sp37394 on my HP amd processor
I have an HP PC Pavilion(a1017c) AMD athlon(tm)(64)(ntfs,fat32 file systems) with windows XP and I had previously tried to install SP3, (three times)only to find myself caught in a loop of the machine restarting. I have managed to restore everything back but not to a restore point (the computor would not recognize a created restore point and to this day still does not recognize a restore point) I have heard that my type of pc needs to have sp37394 installed prior to installing SP3 and when I try to install sp39394, it begins to install and then I get the following: "Your system does not meet the minium requirements for this update.

I am hesitant to try and install SP3 again.

Hi,
You can try installing SP3 in safe mode, so that It doesn't conflict with any application software.
It should get installed successfully and problems should be fixed.
(Restart PC and keep tapping F8 to get advanced menu options and choose safe mode from there)

You can install SP3, there is no problem.
First of all make sure that you have SP2 installed followed by try installing hotfix (WindowsXP-KB953356-x86-ENU.exe) before you install SP3.This hotfix must be installed on all machines which has AMD procesors.You can download the hotfix from microsoft website followed by try installing SP3.
