I have a Dell Axim X30 Pocket PC, and cannot read

I have a Dell Axim X30 Pocket PC, and cannot read an SD card. I've checked the card and it's fine. The systems screen tells me the expansion slot is not in use, and I can't find a way to enable it.
Any suggestions>
