hey, i put a dvd recorded disk into my lg DBRH197 and the recorder continually said reading. this can not be stopped and now after turning off the machine it wont allow me to open the door to remove the dvd. Is there a manual release button or another way to eject? i have turnned off the player at the wall and removed the plug with no luck. thank you.

- Hey,
I took my recorder down to the repairers as it was under warranty still and the drive itself was actually faulty. They replaced it and now it works fine (as should be expected).
Look, if ur unit is out of warranty you may as well do this anyway, its not hard at all. Firstly, unplug from power source!! Thats important, then simply unscrew case, remove case. remove the four screws holding the dvd section to the case. remove the following four screws that are right beside the four screws you just removed that are holding the dvd section together. now unplug the ribbon that has "2" written on it (to the right of the dvd section. now unplug the cord from the power supply (the one running to the dvd section) but only at the first point. now raise the back end of the dvd section, lift up two little plastic flaps clipping it in and slid it out just enough to take of the case off and remove dvd. put back together in reverse order remembering to reconnect all ribbons and cables. connect to power and bobs ur aunt.
P.s. I do not hold myself responsible for any damage you cause to your unit or yourselves. Hope it helps, Murder-face.

Reposted as got a irrelevant non-solution response before! My LG HDD-DVD Recorder has been working absolutely fine up until today. I successfully dubbed two files from the HDD to blank DVDs. With the third DVD I tried to dub, the ''Please Wait'' popup just stayed on the screen and nothing happened. I have tried putting in different blank DVDs and dubbing different files from the HDD to DVD, but nothing seems to work. I have also tried the one-touch dubbing mechanism, but that just freezes with a ''Preparing Please Wait'' popup. I've switched the machine off and back on, using remote, button and at power sourse, but no effect. Nothing traumatic happened to the machine, and I changed no settings etc. between the second and third disks. What do I do?
