PSP game won't play

Try to run the game and recognises there is a UMD in but when loading it comes up with 'Game could not be started (80020148)'.
Tried then to update software to ver 3.51 and it comes up with 'Game could not be started (DADADADA)'

Make sure the lesn is clean, and once you insert the UMD, push the metal holder against the flap lightly.
i've had the same problem before.

I put the disc of tron in my psp and when i open it it a pears that the game cant open because of a eror code 80020148 how do i fix it

This is how I managed to fix the psp error 80020148. Ok I found some program online that works on my 3.40 OE-A and it rips the UMD games for me. but when I went to play them the "The game could not be started. (80010002)" message came up. Then I tried to play the original game (UMD DISK) I got this message "The game could not be started. (80020148)". So I went online here is what i found......
TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
1. Goto Recovery Menu (turn off then hold R and turn on) 2. Configuration -> Use NO-UMD (Disable it) 3. Go all the way back to main menu 4. Advanced -> Advanced Configuration -> (Disable all of them)

When i try to run a iso/cso game, the white psp would shoe up and then the screen truns black went back to the psp menu and it said Game could not start 80020148 my psp's system software is 5.00 M33-4

What you need to do is disable the umd from within the custom firmware menu. Completely turn off the PSP (hold the power button up until it turns off). Then while holding the right shoulder button, turn the PSP on. The recovery menu will load. Select configuration and then disable the "no umd" option. Exit from the recovery menu and insert a umd disc into the PSP. Make sure auto start is also disabled in the PSP menu settings. You should now be able to run your game.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

When I insert a new UMD i get the game could not be started. 80020148. The UMD is recognised and the thumbnail appears on the menu, but the game will not start. Please help.

Solution: 1) You must first backup ur data on your memory stick to your PC. Mainly the saved games data. ( directory is PSP\SAVEDATA) 2) Format the memory stick using the PSP format tool in system settings...not your PC. 3) In System Setting UNCHECK or UNSELECT "UMD Cache" this must be off!!!! 4) Connect your psp via USB cable 5) Copy your game saves / data back to your psp remember >> PSP\SAVEDATA . 6) Do a hard reboot of your psp ie hold the power switch for 3 seconds and it will reboot. 7) Your UMD games should now work with no probs.

Psp fault code

Can you run other UMD's and it read them?  If so you need to possibly clean the Original UMD.  If your not able to read any UmDs, or it will see the UMD and not load it up and run the UMD, you will need a new UMD drive.  I can replace your UMD drive for $45 including return shipping.  Contact me at Repairtech@playstationclinic.com.   I run the website www.playstationclinic.com
