How do i remove and install a optical drive on my HP Pavilion zd8000 laptop.

If this is a fresh installation of windows that is failing you then try the long format, another installation disk, or another optical drive entirely.

Other wise you could have bad hard drive.

Hello everyone please if you have a solution for me I have a HP Pavilion zd8000 and I installed the ultimate win7 everything is ok but graphics can not find appropriate drivers for ATI Radeon X600 M24, which is in it for pre Win7 Thanks for your help

Turn the laptop over on its back and look for the "L" shaped access cover by the fan grill. Remove the access cover screws and pry the cover off. Grip the mylar tab on the hard drive and move it away from the connector that attaches the hard drive to the motherboard.

double check for screws. there is a screw or two that your missing. normally the unit will come apart when all screws are removed. also make sure that you are not standing on carpet. when working inside of the computer.

any moisture on the motherboard
will destroy components if plugged in

even if yoru laptop is cold in your car , is ok
but when you bring it inside and plug in fast
condensation can burn out the tiny components, motherboard is bad

1/ clean optical drive by cd which we can buy inmarket.(dvd DEK clener). 2/ REINSTAL your dvd driver. 3/ if not work your drive is damage change new.

Take a pin, and gently insert it into the crevice of the optical drive. You should be able to open the optical drive now.

you need to remove the front screen bezel (remove the screws and unsnap the cover)

then unplug the Pink and White Power Plug to the LCD Bulb..... Also Unplug the Display cable Plug from the other end of the inverter... Unscrew the inverter from the screen and remove/replace

Remove the Phillips PM2.5x7.0 screw (1) that secures the optical drive to the computer
Insert a thin tool, such as a paper clip, into the media tray release hole (2). (The optical drive media tray release from the optical drive)
Use the media tray frame to slide the optical drive (3) to the left.
Remove the optical drive.

Since the hardware route is expensive, have you tried to upgrade the software/drivers for the drive?

It looks like there's an incompatibility between the software, OS and hardware.
