Sony VAIO seems to be crashed, says "Operating System Not Found"

Hello:
My Sony VAIO Laptop (Vista, 1.5Ghz) seems to be crashed lastnight. Now, all I see on the screen is "Operating System Not Found". Went to BIOS 'mode' and noticed that
Hard drive: None. Tried to change the settings to default but no luck. Can I get some help?
