Black screen

it will be the cable for the screen i have had to do a few of these, the cable snaps on the hinge, you will need to replace this cable they dont cost to much. take the screws out of the back of the laptop and remove the key pad then the top cover, you will then see the cable /s unplug them and on the back unplug the wifi wires and remember what way they go, push them through the hole so they are on the top. undo the screws for the hinges and carefully remove the screen from the base. now you will need to take the rubbers off the . screen lid and undo the screws and split the cover seam, when it come apart you will see where the wire is and replace it, you will find a few of the wires on the cable have split. there are two types of cables one type is for if you have web came and other is for no web cam. you need the cable that is right for your screen. put back together in reverse and it should be fine put a bit of grease on the cable were the bend is in the cable around the hinge will help it no split so easy. hope this helps.

CP185 has intermittent static, when pressing button to talk screen displays "channel busy" and battery will not keep a charge.

Could be one of several issues. A few which come to mind are:

1) You have a bad or poorly charged battery. Static is a sign of a bad or poorly charged battery. Try swapping a battery from another radio, with a known good battery and see if the problem is solve. If this resolves the issue check your battery and charger. Tip: Clean all charge contacts with a pencil eraser to ensure good charging. Also, check your 3- or 4-digit date code on the battery. If more than 2 years old, replace the battery. (4-digit date code example 1303 would be 2013 the 3rd week; on 3-digit date codes the first number is the year and the next two the week of the year.)

2) You are trying to use the radio in an area where you are experiences high RF on your frequency. This is the "busy"... someone/something is on or near your radio's frequency and interfering with transmission. Try your radio at a different location and see if the problem persists.

3) Another radio in the workgroup is stuck in transmit, causing static, and the channel busy. Turn off other radios, one at a time, and see if the problem still exists.

4) Or if you have an audio device plugged into the radio, try unplugging it and see if the problem stops. FYI: All audio devices must be plugged or unplugged with the radio shut off. If you plug one in with the radio turned on, you can experience some unexpected intermittent issues.

If none of these seem to be the problem, your radio is likely in need of repair.

Best regards.

I accidently dropped my HP G71-340US notebook laptop approximately 2 feet hitting the hardwood floor. It was closed and hit the front corner. It sill works fine except all pictures have a grainy, swirling...

you have probably damaged the screen itself, try using it connected to an external monitor, if you have a good picture then your screen needs replacing

The unit vibrates and makes a static sound when turnd on.

On Sony T100 and similar,
its the vibration canceling unit, i had the same problem.
if you have good hads you can fix it.( on your oun risk)
1) disasamble the camera, you will see black plastic box inside, this is he lens unit.
2) on the botom you see 2 scrwes, they are holding the CCD remove them and the ccd unit will come from the lens assembly
3) the next is the stabilizer unit it is the problematic one. it is located on the left side of the lens asebly and is held by 2 screws.
you can test it by puling out the cable connected to it (the conector is just under the lens) and verifign that the problem is solved. ( you can leave it this way it will shoot fine just without the anti shake)
4) to fix it take it out ,remove the plastic cover, you see the lens on a plastic mount it should be glued to the magnet under it. the problem is that the glue fals apart.
remove one of the pins on wich it slides, and take the lens and the magnet out.
5) reglue the magnet and reasemble the camera.
6) power up and test, for me that solved the problem

if you need more help you can mail me at adisarit(et)yahoo(dot)com
this is spam mail so be prepared to wait a few days for reply.
i have a document with pictures explaining the proccess

IT SEEMS THAT WHENEVER IT FEELS LIKE IT THE SCREEN WILL FREEZE UP, OR IT WILL ALSO AT TIMES JUST START GOING ALL CRAZY AND MAKING THIS REALLY LOUD SCREECHING NOISE. I HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED ANYTHING LIKE...

hi, you have a static problem. i recommend that you remove all covers and try if the problem is still here. next step you should check whether all grounding parts/metal/ are interconnected to allow proper grounding.
you should check near the processpr because most static noise occurs near the processors and heatsink.

Can i make the display split-screen full again ?

dbdbf85.gifyou should see a symbol similar to this in your I-drive it moves the nav. screen to the side of the display.Usually if you press it, it will toggle between different displays. If you look into your owners manual there should be one book that is completely dedicated to the navigation system. good luck

Rth230b honeywell display screen faint

Mike, The static electrical spark probably 'zapped' the Rth230b Honeywell Display unit. If you have already tried removing the power (batteries) from the unit and after waiting several minutes; reapply the power (batteries). If the problems remain unchanged, then it is time to replace the Display unit with a new one. The static electricity problem is problematic and the only way to prevent the same problem from recurring is to discharge yourself before touching the Honeywell Display. As you walk across the room which (probably has carpet), causes the static electricity to build up on your body and then discharges itself through the Display unit when you make contact with the Display unit. You might try coming to a complete stop and attempt to discharge the static charge on your body by touching the wall first with one hand for a second before touching the Display unit with the other hand. Naturally, cold weather with low humidity makes the static electricity worse. Hopes this helps you. Henry

Static cling with 3 quarter inch tape

Ngotsa, Static is NOT the reason for your fuzzy audio. Old tapes tend to deteriorate because of 1.) the way they were stored (damp, humid, and extremes in temperature), or in, or near an electric field (motor, refrigerator, TV) 2.) the lubrication (which is on all tapes) has evaporated - making good tape to head contact impossible) or 3.) the oxide (the actually tape coating) had deteriorated. As far as the Black Backing, the black backing on your newer tapes IS there to prevent static, but mainly for static build-uop during high speed rewind; if it wasn''t there, you'd actually see sparks, and you'd ocassional zaps in the sound (not overall fuzziness).
