1993 Nissan 100nx broken radio

I just got an old 1993 Nissan 100nx from a friend. He hadn't driven the car in about 6 months, and so the battery went flat last week and needed a jump before I got it.

Now the radio will turn on (it lights up), but there is no display and it wont play any radio or cassettes, I can't even get it to ask for a code let alone input one.

Is there any hope of fixing it? Since the car is so old I really don't want to have to shell out for a new radio!
Thanks!

Don't think this particular model radio had a code, unless it states it on the front. Take radio out, and check the fuse in the back of car radio. If its the type i think it is then it should look like a small plug fuse

I have a 2011 Nissan Juke. The battery is 6 months old. When I went to start it this morning it died, is normal?

See if it does it again. If it does, you have a thing called parasitic draw, something is still consuming power when the car is off. Of the battery is faulty. Or you are doing short journeys that don't give enough power to recharge what starting took out.

Why does battery go weak even when not using the car?

possibly the mileage driven does not allow the battery to recoup the charge it used up in starting the car. perform a draw down test to see if battery is defective

1993 nissan pick up won't start

Possibly a bad connection on the positive side coming from the battery or a weak ground. Check where the leads join the terminal clamps. Has the battery been verified as good? It doesn't take a lot of amps to run lights but it does to turn over the engine. Jump starting it does not require a fully charged battery.
