Definitely not your monitor. It is either a CPU or a Memory problem, is this a new build or did an existing computer suddenly start doing this?

Disabeling display drivers on motherboard

If there's a configuration option for it, it would be in your BIOS. every model has a slightly different way they portray this option. some BIOSes tell you straight out, labeling it "enable/disable onboard video" option. others give you a prompt asking what you would like to ''prioritize'' for graphics. there are also specific jumper configurations you can use that would be documented in your motherboard's manual.

However, you may not find any such option there, as most boards today automatically disable onboard video when a card is installed. Make sure that the video card you are installing is snug and secure in the AGP slot, with all pins in the proper places, and with the plastic clamp locking it in place. It shouldn't feel loose, or be bent when you're positioning it.

Also, make sure that if the card needs to be plugged in to your power supply directly (there should be a white jack or two with four metal pins on one side of the card if there is), that you do so. If the card isn't getting any power, that could be why the motherboard isn't detecting it. Also, check to see if your power supply can handle the rating... some video cards require stupidly high amounts of power to run properly.

if all this doesn't help, either the video card itself or the AGP port ont he motherboard is malfunctioning. test a different video card if you have one in that system board, or take it to someone else to test on their computer. If you recently bought the card, you can have it sent in to the store you bought it from, and I'm sure that if you request it, they will test the video card themselves to see if it's defective, and give you a replacement if it is.
