i have a hitachi 55hdt79 that i purchased brand new some years ago and after only 1 year of use my girlfriend with her infinite wisdom threw something at me and as I dodged it the item hit and cracked the screen on the TV! I took it off the wall and boxed it up and has been sitting in my basement ever since. It still powers up and you can hear sound from it but for obvious reasons there is now image. If someone wants to make me an offer for it so they can use the parts to fix their own tv please let me know. email email@example.com it is located in Brooklyn NY 11223. you pay for shipping or I prefer you come pick it up. no reasonable offer refused.
You will have to replace the entire panel and that price sounds reasonable. I have seen this MANY times since I am an authorized Samsung technician. Most folks will buy another tv rather than spend that much on an old one. Sorry, but that's what you are looking at.
