Logitech Quickcam Chat - No audio

We received a Logitech QuickCam Chat webcam for Christmas. We are trying to record a video / audio message, but the audio either is not recording or is not playing back. Audio works on all other applications. Any ideas?

Try testing it, last time I checked skype has a test section, its hard to find, but its there. You just talk into the mic and skype records it. Then play back.

It is possible the mic isn't working.

Before you consider taking it back, make sure you follow the instructions to the letter.

I have a Logitech QuickCam 6.0 and it has been working perfectly for months with Skype. Now I am still receiving incoming video but outgoing no longer works. I reloaded QuickCam without improvement. ...

Try to check if this issue occurs on Skype only or with all programs

If it is for Skype only:
You need to check the Video Settings in Skype.
Start Skype > Options > Video Settings > select the webcam that you are using.
If the webcam is not on the list, download and install the driver from the manufacturer website
Try to set Automatically Receive Video from - select Anyone or Only people in my contact list.

I cannot get Quickcam chat to work with Skype.

Normal 0 After you install Skype and have it operational with your ID.
Go to "TOOLS", click on "OPTIONS," Then go to "Audio Settings" and click on it. Make sure both the Microphone and Speaker's are correctly chosen. Then "make a free test call." Wait till the voice tells you to record. Then when finished talking wait for the test persons voice to insure your audio transmission is working. Then go back to options and test your video settings. Click on Video Settings and proceed to set up you video camera. Also, you can visit this site for additional information to setup video.

Logitech quickcam chat live video

Broadband will work better and smoother for sure. If the cam has a mic, then it would work for almost any chat system you can get. You will get both video and audio.
