Re: installing new powersupply

What is your problem? the wires go up and go on 2 wires sticking up they should have something below them that match, you may not need all of them hooked up. the power you need, tri hooking them up and turn the computer off and on each time till you find out where the go.

I installed Window XP Pro and I lost my USB ports. I updated the bios, but this has not helped. The CMOS settings do not even show USB available.

if its not showing up at all in the bios check the jumpers on the mother board... however before you do this download the manual for the motherboard... just google it and find the pdf version directly from the manufacturer. then i suggest you have some help with someone who knows what there doing because the next steps can be hazardous to not only the computer but to yourself ...however if you feel capable try it.

fist makes sure everything is unplugged.
then if u can get ur hands on an antistatic wrist strap wonderful..if not move the computer to a spot away from carpet perferably a table and open the computer and touch the powersupply *if u dont know what this is dont go any further* then look at the manual and put the jumpers/ dipp switches on default. then u whould be able to see then again once everything is connected if not then the motherboard is malfunctioning

Black Screen appears and Windows restarts itself when on

if you press F8 do you get the menu items that you can use the up / down arrows to navigate ie to select safe mode etc ?

If so select the option to disable automatic reboot on error and hopefully it will give you a blue screen of death and you should be able to post back with that error as it is or google it and it should tell you the issue.

CPU max temps are set too low in bios ( check those and set them to a reasonable temp )

driver issue ( corrupt graphics card driver )

Or the power supply is not powerful enough to power the motherboard and everything else ( post back with power supply rated wattage ) and what you have hardware wise - have you installed any new hardware recently ?

No External Speaker Sound

Hi jdnimrod,
This is not you're first post about the Foxconn mother board.
You have an issue with the PS2 keyboard as well. This Foxconn model ( 761GXK8 you listed ), is not 100% correct.
Please check this link:
Find which is you're board.
Than post back into this answer.
It is important you run the exact CPU that is compatible with the mother board.

Foxconn's Compatibility chart for MB to CPU.

761GXK8MC-RS MB Compatibility chart:

761GXK8MB-KRS MB Compatibility chart:[1].htm

I'll help you further once I know the correct mother board.

If you installed new ram on the mother board and when you turned it on all you heard was a beep sound than you did not hurt the mother board. all the beeping is telling you is that it is the wronge memory for the board. check your old memory and make sure it is the same as the new one. for example if the old on shows PC100 than make sure your new memory says PC100,same thing with PC133 make sure it is the same.
even with ddr make sure it says PC2100 or PC2800..... just make sure your memory is the same as what you pulled out.... that is what the beeping sound is that you are hearing. you are just installing the wronge memory.

there might be another thing as well. you may be trying to put in to much for the board. if the ram is the same like the ones you pulled out only put in one bar. than try to power it on and see if it posts. if so than try your other. if you get the beeping sound again than you will not be able to put in so much. take the one bar out and put in one of your old bars. than see if it will post. you might have to do this a few times until you get the right amount of memoery in the machine.

Dear salam

You are only part way there in installing the software. After XP, you need to install the board specific drivers for it's systems. They should be on a CD that would have come with the motherboard. Once those are installed, everything should work.

Intel 845 chipset mother board no reaction - expecting solution

this is normal No-Ram. No-Beep.
The ram is all part of the bios analysis beep codes.
install memory, and setup the board to the manufacturers specification.
1 beep at post is normal on many bioses.

Mother Board problem

Are there any beep/s sound that you can hear when you try to Boot your desktop? If there are none then do some check the following: 1. Please check if you have properly connected the connectors for ATX 20 pins powersupply and for ATX 12V Power Connectors. 2. Press the POWER Button to turn ON your Desktop and Check if the Powersupply FAN is spinning to ensure that there is Electricity power for your Powersupply BOX. Then press (approximately 5 secs) the Power Button if Turn Off again. If its shutdown then your motherboard is OK. But when you press the Power Button and you hear a sound like a BOAT's Horn/Fogging sound then your Power Supply is not sufficient to provide power to your Desktop or CPU.. 3. If you got 2 or more memory Cards installed in your motherboard then try to install those Memories one at a time. To determine if one of those card is defective..
