ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

I dropped my env touch and the screen went black and i need help to transfer my photos to my sim card since i cant see what i am doing

These instructions assume the following: use of the camera on an LG enV Touch VX11000 cell phone, capturing and saving photos or video on an external memory microSD card, and transferring the photos using a SD adaptor.
  1. Remove the MicroSD card from the lower right hand side of the phone by gently pressing the card in toward the phone.
  2. Slide the MicroSD card into the SD card adaptor
  3. Place the SD Card adaptor into a SD port or reader whether it be located on a laptop, PC, printer, or standalone external reader
  4. Using Microsoft Explorer, locate the external memory card, Mine reads SD Card
  5. Double click on the drive name and find your photos or video.
  6. Highlight the photo or video files you want to copy or move
  7. Ctrl-C to copy, or Ctrl-X to move
  8. Locate the folder or location on your PC where you want to store the image or video files and type Ctrl-P.
Your images are now on your laptop or PC and are accessible for printing, sharing, embedding, editing, or viewing.
So what did I do with the photos from the orchard lunch with Nana? My daughter and I uploaded the photos to an online photo site and using the photos from our visit, made a twelve month calendar for Nana's birthday in September. Taking photos using your cell phone camera can be lots of fun. Bring able to access, share, and view them is even better!

Help how do i run my movie clip on my coolpix. thanks bill

go to view your photos saved on your sd card... when you reach the movie clip, press the play button. the up and down might control the volume as well.
alternatively, please take the sd card out and use a card reader and transfer to pc all photos and videos.. then you can view it from the computer.

Make sure all your photos are moved to the SD card in the phone. Then take the SD card out of the phone and buy an external card reader that accepts the smaller SD card or you can get an adapter. Connect the reader to your PC and download the photos. Look in the camera folder or the DCIM folder. You may want to try a different USB cable too. Charging cables do not always transfer data.

I have JVC GZ-MG130AG and I want to transfer photos and videos to SD card. How do I download photos & videos to my PC?

If you want to save your photos on the SD card you have to choose that option from the cams main menu. If you want to transfer the photos and video to the PC than you'll need the A/V output cord that came with your camera, and, the software cd or download from the manufacturers site. After you've set this up, it can all be done from "My computer or Computer" depending on your OS. Thnak you, Dana

I need the photos in the cell to be transferred to the computer

How are you connecting the phone to your PC? Do you have a micro SD card you can put the files on? You shouldn't need any kind of software to transfer files.

SOFTWARE NOT WORKING

You may know this already, but you don't need the camera to upload photos. I have used Nikon Digital SLRs for several years and have never uploaded from the camera. You should be able to do so, but in the mean time, remove the SD card and use a SD card reader. If your PC doesnt have a built in SD reader, get a USB version like the SanDisk MicroMate or get SD with a built-in USB plug(see attached photos for both. When connected to your PC, either will show up as a removeable drive on your PC from which you can copy the files onto your PC's harddrive: save the photos, back them up, then use the camera to format the SD card--this is the best way to clear/erase the card. Then try opening the photos with the Nikon software or photoshop or if they are jpegs, windows will view them. Using the camera to upload photos, in my opinion, should only be done when you do not have a way to read the SD card. This can be the begining of a productive workflow and part of the process for organizing and backing up photographs. You should also watch the Nikon website for software updates to fix bugs: http://support.nikontech.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61 You should also check for firmware updates for your camera(1.11 is the latest for the D40 and no updates yet on the D40x): http://support.nikontech.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13783
