Check if the remote is still transmitting. You can do this with a digital camera. Point the Remote at the camera's lens then start pressing buttons on the remote. If you see a blinking light from where the remote transmits on the digital camera's LCD screen, the remote is functioning properly.

If you do not see it transmitting, replace the batteries. If it still does not work, the only thing you can really do is get a new remote, there is no way to reprogram the LG remote. You can get a universal for for pretty cheap or you can contact LG to get the exact replacement remote for your TV to ensure it has all the functions needed.
