Cam & crank sensor code intermitten spark 2.4

You mean it will turn/crank over, but wont fire.

Check for spark, most likely cause would be crank or cam angle sensor faulty.

Have you checked for obd codes? Is the check engine light illuminated?

the timing marks are to line up and face each other
then fin the chain
then turn the crank until the crank sprocket is facing down timing mark is facing down
the cam mark should be in the 2 oclock position
there should be 15 links between marks
form your description that is what you have done so the problem is not in the timing chain installation
back firing is normally from a valve still open when the spark occurs so check firing order or the distributor installation is not 180 degrees out

It is a $800 job usually because you have to access the timing chain case. So the timing chain is usually replaced with it. To get you started , take off the front pass. wheel then plastic panels to see crank pulley. then jack support motor to take off engine mount. If your not discouraged yet, buy a $25 book and continue with timing chain removal directions. This is no easy job. I take 10 HRS.

replace crank senser, first, always replace together, also chk some time double cam motores have to cam sensers.

if the car ran fine befor you changed the timing chain you may have the cam timing off by one tooth retarted. Being the PCM controls the timing advance . The engine smooths out at higher speeds .Start back tracking and looking at the simple stuff . but you may have to pull the timing housing again to check the timing marks on the cam and the crank

there is still more to check. like the mass air flow sensor, the whole fuel line cleanout, and if its an auto it does have a camshaft sensor. its located into the transmission.

YOU WILL SEE A HOLE IN THE CAM GEAR THAT A 3/8 BOLT WILL FIT INTO. PUT A BOLT INTO THE HOLES OF BOTH CAM GEARS. THEN LINE UP THE CRANK PULLEY KEYWAY AT ABOUT 12 O'CLOCK WITH THE MARK ON THE ENGINE BLOCK.

MAKE SURE TO COMPRESS THE CHAIN TENSIONER AND RELEASE IT WHEN THE CHAIN IS IN POSITION.
