I have a similar problem with the USB. When I connect the device to the USB port of my PC, the PC does not recognize correctly the device: the PC detects it as an unknown device and I cannot see it as an external memory device. I tried with 3 different PC at my home, all installed with Windows XP SP2 and it doesn't work on any of them. It works on one PC in the shop where I bought it....

Hi there I figured out the problem with alot of buggering around. If you go into the control panel for your computer, go into system, then hardware and look at the driver settings, scroll down until you see your installed portable device (P2) then open it and install the drivers for the USB which come on the disk. This should let it run,

Good luk

Hi!
I've been looking everywhere to find the problem about this. And unfortunately, Samsung doesn't get a good customer support for that.

so the solution looks to be with windows, you absolutely need to install latest Windows Media Player. WMP 11 in this case. reboot and then add the hardware once again in your control panel. It works for me after 3 days of research.

Cheers

My grandson got a GPX ML648b mp3 player for Christmas. On Christmas day we tried to download songs. After 24 songs it would not loan any more. So I deleted the songs and tried again. It would only download...

If this problem occurs then your ML648B needs to be formatted.

1. Connect your ML648B to your computer with Windows XP or later.
2. By default your computer will recognize ML648B as GPX MTP Device. Press the POWER button from top of your ML648B, to change it to USB mode connection. You will also see USB on the screen of ML648B.
3. ML648B will now mount 2 drives, one as Tools (as CD-Drive) and second as Removable Disk (Drive) – under My Computer on your Windows Desktop.
4. Right click your mouse and then select the Format option. When the Format Removable Disk window appears select the Start button to start formatting your MP3 player.

Computer doesn't recognize Creative Zen Mozaic

may not be a data cable. might only be a charging cable. Try different cables since that cable(if original ) is over 8 years old and possibly bad now.

FP3 PLAYER- TRANSFERRING MUSIC FROM PLAYLIST TO FP3 PLAYER

I had the same problem and when I spoke to Fisher Price they had me format the player. Very quick and simple. Go to My computer, Right Click on the Drive the player is on and click on format. I did not have any songs in my computer yet so I don't know if you will have to redownload them after formatting. The player works great now and my daughter loves it.

FYI- Software is not comaptible with 64 bit computers.

My ilo mp3 player is ruining christmas.....

This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Memorex MMP 8585 MP3 player

hi bigmax,
this could be many things.
The reason i suspect is from port speeds.
Most HP computers have different speeds for their ports.
Try putting the USB into a different USB port
This should work.
Also make sure you install any CD's that came with the player.
