Mitsubishi WS-65809 - works, but screen won't power on.

I just replaced convergence chips and pico fuses on a Mit WS-65809. TV now powers on, I can hear volume, and through volume, I can hear that TV functions (mute, input, channel) are working. Screen will not power up. Dianogstic code reads 1-2 which means no problems detected, correct? Please Help.

- The code is 1-2, not 2-1, and I've checked it multiple times after running the TV for a bit to rule out any other code. I checked the CRT heaters, and all three are glowing orange. I've looked down the lenses and cannot see ANY light whatsoever in any of the three. As far as your question about high voltage, you'll have to forgive me for being a retard, but I'm not sure what you're wanting me to check.

yes that is correct 12 is normal...make sure all connectors are plugged in and in the correct places . conectors should be marked with letters that match the marking on the circuit board. Then look for heaters , in the glass bottom of the picture tubes(CRTs) there should be a little orange glow visable though the neck of the CRTs just above where the crt boards plugg onto the bottom. if the heaters are not glowing then check your wires to the crt boards again , you probly tugged one of them too hard during disassembly also check for cracked solder in the heater circuit......Oh yeah, you didn't mention -Does the TV get high voltage ??? thats important to having a picture......If you see the heaters glowing when the tv is on then look down into the lenses of the crts . If you see a brite color horizontal line closer to one side in each of them then you know most of the tv is working. If that line is curved then the tv probly detects that the convergence circuit is not working and it is blanking video.
OR -----
the error is 21 (see what number it ends the sequence with..) . Error 21 is X_Ray protect and you probly plugged one of the connectors into the diagnosic connector(near the high voltage transformer- normally nothing goes there) . If that is the case then somthing in the H.V. circuit could have been permanently damaged and now the tv has a new problem and wont work even if you put that connector in the right place.

- OR --
You just plugged the tv in and then retrived the error code.
To log an error code other than normal the tv must try to turn on and shut itself down . Then you will be able to retreive an error code other than 12 indicating the problem section of the tv . If it is a problem that is detectable by the tv..

- I can usually tell if h.v is on by a kinda high pitch whine or by brushing the back of my arm near the thick red h.v wires on the right side (looking at the tv from the back with the back removed). Also when high voltage turns on or when it turns off a definate static like crackling noise will be heard in the back of the tv. Do remove or damage those wies at all....Oh yeah you said you see the heaters so you probly have h.v. CHECK your connections ..(looking at the back with the back removed) .
BOARD ON THE LEFT SIDE , EDGE FURTHEST AWAY FROM YOU: THERE SHOULD BE ONLY ONE CONNECTOR WITHOUT ANYTHING PLUGGED INTO IT- MAKE SURE THE LETTERS ON THE OTHERS IN THAT AREA MATCH THE BOARD MARKINGS .
CHECK BOLTH GROUPS OF INTER-BOARD CONNECTORS THAT CONNECT THE THREE BORDS THAT LAY ACROSS THE BOTTOM TOETHER.
CENTER BOARD RIGHT FAR CORNER . ON THE OTHER SIDEOF THE CONV. AMP HEATSINK:
MAKE SURE ALL 4 CONNECTORS ARE THE RIGHT ONES AND FULLY INSERTED.
OK Thats all , call a repairman.
