You can download the owner's manual for free from LG's website in PDF format.

If you need a service or training manual for the TV, you can also get them from LG or many other 3rd party website but they will charge you (usually around $20-30).

I have hooked up an older LG DVD Player with an HDM I cable to a new Vizio TV. I have picture but no sound

HDMI transmits audio using a digital format. Access the menu on the Visio TV and make sure that the HDMI input audio is set to ON or PCM. Also access the menu of your DVD player and make sure the audio output is set for HDMI Audio and PCM as well. These setting should ensure that the audio is passed over HDMI from your DVD to your TV.

HOW DO I PLAY A DVD USING Hitachi Flat Panel Television 32HDL51 (ITS CONNECTED THROUGH HDMI CABLE)

Page 18 of the manual, you shouldn't need to do steps 2 or 3.

CONNECTING A COMPONENT SOURCE WITH HDMI or DVI CAPABILITY TO INPUT 1 or INPUT 2
1.Connect the HDMI or DVI to HDMI connection cable from the output of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the HDMI input as shown on the AVC Center below.
2.With DVI output, connect the cable from the AUDIO OUT R of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the INPUT (AUDIO/R) jack.
3.With DVI output, connect the cable from the AUDIO OUT L of the HDTV set top box or DVD player to the INPUT (AUDIO/L) jack.
4.Press the INPUTS button, then select INPUTS 1 or 2 to view the program from the HDTV set top box or DVD player. The VIDEO OSD label disappears automatically after approximately four seconds.
5.Select ANT A or B from the INPUTS menu to return to the previous channel.
NOTES:1. Completely insert the connection cord plugs when connecting to rear panel jacks. The picture and sound that is played back will be abnormal if the connection is loose.
2. The HDMI input on INPUT 1 or 2 contains the copy protection system called High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). HDCP is a cryptographic system that encrypts video signals when using HDMI connections to prevent ******* copying of video contents.
3.HDMI is not a "NETWORK" technology. It establishes a one-way point-to-point connection for delivery of uncompressed video to a display.
4.The connected digital output device controls the HDMI interface so proper set-up of device user settings determines final video appearance.

My Pioneer XV-DV282AP home theatre has no Audio output. Every time I put the volume up/down, it keeps on saying HDMI/TV Audio. It only works with an HDMI cable using the speaker from the Television.

The system is set up to output sound through HDMI to the TV. You can change the setting so the sound is sent to the speakers. The process for changing the HDMI output setting is in page 41 of the manual. You want to choose the AMPsetting. I have included a link to the manual and copied the text below.

1. Press SHIFT+SETUP.

2. Use ?/? to select HDMI SET then press
ENTER.

3. Use ?/? to choose HDMI MODE then
press ENTER.

4. Use ?/? to choose the setting you want
then press ENTER.
• AMP - Output Audio sound of the DVD/CD
and USB function signal from this system
• TV - Output Audio sound of the DVD/CD
and USB function signal from a TV or flat
screen TV.

No optical output except when using ipod dock on tv

Unfortunately, there is a limitation on the JVC LT47P789 digital optical audio out. This audio output does not get the signal from any HDMI source. This is described on page 49 of the user manual. The manual is available from JVC here: http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/01/14/YA653ien.pdf . There is a similar restriction for the analog audio output from the TV with the HDMI inputs.

If you use the component audio/video inputs on the TV from your set-top cable box and DVD player, then the optical audio output will work. Otherwise, you need to find a way to connect the audio directly to the receiver. Some receivers have multiple HDMI input ports. These then forward the video signal on their HDMI output to the TV. Another option is to connect the analog audio outputs from the cable box and DVD player to the receiver. This may require resetting the Audio output from these set-top boxes to keep from sending the audio over the HDMI cable. With the Cinemate, you might need some sort of audio input switch or an HDMI converter and switch that separates the audio from the video signal.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with more information about your devices for ideas on how to work-around the problem with this JVC TV.

I HAVECONNECTED ALL MY SPEAKER WIRES,HDMI CABLEAND CONNECTED THE YELLOW AUDIO CABLE.POWERED UP THE DVD BOX BUT I ONLY GET SOUND FROM TV.the tv is a new 47'' LG.

If you are using HDMI cable you will not be using the YELLOW RCA plug sine the Yellow pug is for composite video. Analog audio uses RED (RIGHT) and WHITE (LEFT) for sound.
How exactly youhave the whole thing setup? through the receiver or just between the TV HDMI port and the HDMI port on the DVD player?
You will also need to setup the HDMI sound set up to send the sound through the HDMI cable or through the audio analog RCA ports.
More info needed. Hook up per DVD and TV user manuals

RCA DRC277-A, No sound when played through a Samsung HDTV using the HDMI chord. Chord and TV seem to check out fine. Tried all buttons and menus I could find. Have set sound to PCM, etc.

There might be a setting in your tv's audio menu to enable your audio source, which is now hdmi (vs. the rca-type red and white audio cables). Once you select the type of audio you are using, the audio, you should hopefully be able to get sound from your dvd player now.

Sound Problems with HD TV

This seems to be a problem that has to do with your HDMI audio output.
First check in your TV setting if audio out is selected on your correct HDMI port. Than check if your receiver is able to receive audio via HDMI (i assume you used the HDMI connection). Some receivers have HDMI IN connections but are not able to receive audio on it, the latest receivers/sets do have this feature. If your receiver doesnot support audio IN via HDMI you can only do one thing, connect the stereo audio-out of your TV to an AUX IN connection on your receiver.
