You need to setup first your WIRELESS ROUTER when you want to hook it up on your DSL router. If I we're you, much better to call either the company of the wireless router and call your ISP (Internet Service Provider) for them to set it up. But if you we're using a DELL computer, better to call DELL Technical support for configuration of your wireless router. Thank you.

1 of the 2 computers cant get online

Pleaase check if the PC connects when plugged directly to the DSL or cable connection whatever you have without the router in between. That would ensure the functionality of the ethernet card on the other pc.

Hook up

Hi Cheryl,

From your cable/dsl modem please take the cable that comes out of it that looks slightly larger than a phone cable and plug it into a port on your NetGear Wireless Router that is labeled either Internet or WAN. After that is done, unplug the power to both your cable/dsl modem and your wireless router. Plug the power back into the cable/dsl modem and wait about 30 seconds then do the same with the wireless router.

Next on your computer, there should be a wireless icon by your clock near the bottom right corner of the screen. If you double on it, you will see a list of connections, yours will say Netgear and should have a good signal strength. Double on it and give it about 10 seconds to connect. Voila, you should be on the Internet.

Please let me know if this solves your problem.

Thanks,
Adam

Linksys routetr problem

HI,
The problem can be caused, because of two reasons, one the router profile on the computer has got corrupted and second the router itself. Have you tried resetting the router to factory defaults.. Caution: all wireless security settings and user name and passwords would go back to factory defaults.

1.Disconnect all cable from the back of the router.
2. Shut down your computer and the DSL box
3.Press the reset button, using a paper clip at the back of the router.Keep it pressed for 5 seconds
4. Disconnect the power cord to the router
5. Switch on the Dsl box, wait for the lights to stablize
6. Reconnect the interenet cable and the power cable to the router and power it on.
7 Let the lights stabalise on the router and power on the computer.

Check if that resolves the problem, if not we might need to update the router.

Thanks

D-link wireless internet

It is always a good thing to start the different peripherals in an order. First, you start your modem. Wait 30 seconds. Then, start the router; wait another 30 seconds; then the computer.

I'm having trouble hooking up my zonet wireless router. I put the cd in and did everything but it still wont work.

Are you running a DSL connection, or is it cable? If you have a DSL connection, the router IP and the DSL modem will conflict with each other trying to establish connection. This may be something to call zonenet customer support on to find out if it is possible to change the router IP address so they don't conflict. If you want to basically "PLUG and PLAY" return the zonenet router and get a D-Link wireless router. They are most compatable with DSL connections.

Belkin router

I just worked on one of these today. Try this and see if it helps.

1. Unplug your cable or DSL modem and your wireless router

2. Plug back in the cable or DSL modem and wait for the internet to successfully connect (watch the lights).

3. Plug the wireless router back in again and wait for it to connect (again, watching the lights)

If this doesn't work, make sure you have the equipment plugged-in in the right order.

cable or dsl signal goes to modem ==> modem plugs into wireless router ===> computer plugs into wireless router.
