---If you do this you won't lose music"---
Well I went to my computer clicked my ipod and when the folders came up you go up top to "tools and folder options" and go to the tab that says "view" and click the one that says "show hidden folders." Then click "ipod control" then "Device" and delete the file that says "_lock" or something on that line. If you any questions email me at [email protected]

I forgate my apple ipod screen luck code, how to open it ?

Hello All!

I had the same problem, my officemate came to me and asked formy help, her nephew tinkered on her ipod nano and set the passcode, and did not remember what it was.

the ipod nano can be unlocked when connected to the computer with itunes but, if you want to change the passcode to a new one it will ask for the old code which i dont have. even if you reset all the settings to factory default setting it will not reset.

this is a little hard for some of you to follow, but, to totally remove the unknown old code this is what i've done:
first, sync your music to your PC so that you have a backup of all your music. Second, make sure enable disk use is checked. third, format your IPOD. This sounds nut but this did the trick.

after doing this, check if you can set a new passcode to the screen lock, you should be able to do it. and please dont forget the new passcode. I hope this helps.

I forgot my password and is locked

OOPS, try this:
connect it to your computer and click reset when your ipod nano comes up on itunes. you should click on the ipod name in the left side of your screen (lwhere the itunes library and store icons are located) and there should be a button that says restore or reset your ipod to origional settings. it will erase all passwords.
Let me know if this helps

Is there a way to override or reset the password on the iPod Nano

Unfortunately, if the password has been forgotten, you will have to "Restore" the iPod, which will erase all the songs and other files that are currently on there.

To update or restore iPod nano:
1 Make sure you have an Internet connection and have installed the latest version of
iTunes from www.apple.com/ipod/start.
2 Connect iPod nano to your computer.
3 In iTunes, select iPod nano in the Source pane and click the Summary tab.
The Version section tells you whether iPod nano is up to date or needs a newer version
of the software.
4 Click Update to install the latest version of the software.
5 If necessary, click Restore to restore iPod nano to its original settings (this erases all data
from iPod nano). Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the restore process.
