My rx 675 wont turn on. the red stand by light flashes and that is it.

Try holding the 'tone control' and 'info' buttons and pressing power. This should allow the unit to turn on. See what the front display says at that point. I tshould show some kind of protect code. If the unit turns on and stays on normally after that, then you may have had a temporary problem that was cleared by disconnecting everything. If it turns back off right away, then you will have to get it repaired as something internal has been damaged.

My RX-V2095 Yamaha receiver won't power up.

Wont power up, or stuck in "protect mode"? Unplug the unit & let it sit for a couple hours, then plug back in & listen for a "click" a turn (power supply relay energizing.) If no lights & no click, the first place to check is the mains fuse. If the unit is under warranty - take to an authorized facility & they will take care of it for you.

Where there should be information displayed (such as frequency of fm station that is playing) segments of the display are lighting but are not readable characters.

As I may have stated before, 3 issues can occur cause this. The display microprocessor(computer) within your unit that drives the display, can be bad. The actual display may be bad, or the wires and connections between the two can be bad. For more information, please visit my website at Thank you.

My yamaha rx-v795a works fine but the display is showing jibberish. What is causing this problem?

There is a Microprocessor(computer) that controls the display. This Micro can be bad, the display can be bad, the connections between the two, as well. For more information, please visit my website at Thank you.

Disconnect all speakers.

Power it On, If it turns On completely , Be glad.

Put back speaker one at a time to find the cause.

If for instance , it doesnt work ....

I need a new dvd / blue player to go with my rx-v795aRDS Amp what work with this amp ?

Any DVD player will work with your receiver, as long as you are not using SACD output jacks. Not all units use this output, so if you are using these connections, make sure you buy another unit that also possesses these connections. HDMI connections are also something to consider. How do I code my Yamaha rx-v361 receiver onto my comcast remote control?

To program your remote follow these steps.
1-Turn on the receiver
2-press the "AUX" device key on the remote control
3-Press and hold the "setup" button until the aux key blinks twice, than release the setup button.
4-Enter one of the following codes
30176 or 31176
5-If you entered the code correctly, the AUX key will blink twice and turn off. Now aim the remote at the receiver and press power. If the device turns off, than the code functioned properly. If the receiver does not respond, restart the procedure and enter the other code provided
Good Luck

YAMAHA AV receiver RX-V861 I have the message 'Vol-fix' appearing on Zone 2 and no sound. This was working fine until then

Setting the RX-V861 remote control to operate Zone 2:
  1. Using a ballpoint pen or similar object and press the [CODE SET] button RX-V861 remote control. The[TRANSMIT INDICATOR]on the remote should flash twice.
  2. Using the [NUMERICAL KEY PAD] on the remote and key in 9992, the [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] should flash.
Assigning the receivers internal amp for Zone 2:
  1. Set the remote control selector to [AMP]. (Located to the right of the volume buttons on the Remote.).
  2. Press the [SET MENU]button on the remote control.
  3. Arrow down to Manual Setup and press the Enter button on the remote control.
  4. Arrow to the [SOUND MENU] option and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  5. Arrow to Speaker Set and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  6. Arrow to the EXTRA SP ASSIGN and select ZONE2
  7. Press the [RETURN] button on the remote control to exit out and return to the Manual Setup.
NOTES: There is an option for setting the Maximum Volume and Initial Volume in the Zone Set menu.
  • Max Volume: This is an optional feature but isrecommended to prevent the accidental change in volume levels thatcould damage the speakers and receiver.
  • Initial Volume: This is also a great feature that would seamlessly start the volume level for the second or third zone at the desired level.
We do not recommend using any Speaker Selector boxes to enable more than the recommended number of speakers per terminal.
Controlling Zone 2 using the RX-V861 remote control:
  1. If the Main Zone on the receiver is on, press the [POWER BUTTON]down and while holding that button down press the [PHONO]/[**] button on the remote. The [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] will light up.
  2. You will not be able to use the following buttons on the remote: (Pressing any other button will cause the remote to exit Zone 2 mode. [POWER], [STANDBY], [VOLUME], [MUTE] and the [INPUT SELECTOR] buttons [DVD], [CD], etc.)

There are the instructions as written straight from yamaha. If you need any further assistance please let me know.
Thank you,
