Replaced lamp but no picture after 15 seconds

I replaced my lamp and the red lamp light has gone off now but when I power up the TV I have a perfect picture for about 10-25 seconds and then it goes black.
The green power light is still on as normal and I hear the cooling fans running but no picture.If I use the remote to turn off the TV the power light turns red and the lamp light comes on for about 30 seconds and then the TV is quiet.I can push the power button on the remote and the TV comes on again with a picture and it does the same cycle over again.No picture after 15-30 seconds ect.
Any ideas

    I bought the lamp from ebay it was a Generic lamp.I found out that thePT46DL10 takes 2 different lamps.In the serial number look to see if you have a "Z" or "J" which ever one you have you must specify that type(my ebay lamp was for a "z" model )My TV has a "J" in the serial and the J model lamp is much more expensive!Sooooo I took the TV to a AKAI authorized shop,They blew out a generic lamp in about 20 minutes(WOW more that my 20 seconds)ANy way they say I need an orginal lamp and a balast total estament to repair including labor is$495.00,Problem is they say that the supplier has the parts but cant give a delevery date untill the parts or ordered.I am considering fixing the TV problem is I dont to wait 6months to get it back.Hope this helps

Gentlemen;
You may wabnt t check to see if the reaplacement lamp, is a direct replacement and also if the original is a vented lamp and you replaced it with a non ented lamp you will get that problem, lots of parts houses are selling a non vented lamp for a vented lamp it wuill not work at all. And you will get what you are getting.

The screen went blank and green light started flashing. Turned off the TV and let it cool. Turned it back on, getting sound but no picture. Red light is on, after about 15 seconds the green light blinks...

Since you say that there is sound but no picture, the first thing I would check would be the status of the lamp. I believe that the lamp has been shattered or the filament is blown. Please verify this and let me know

Turning on problem with Panasonic Viva PT-43LC14

Sounds as you have a bad ballest. The ballest is the power supply that turns your lamp on. You can check your lamp by removing it and it should be clear and no broken pieces of glass. With the lamp removed install the cover and turn it on you should hear no noise and when the power light turns red you should see a LAMP red led blink every 5 seconds. If no noise then the lamp is bad. If you do hear noise you have a bad ballist. Hope this helps. Frank
