Question about Vivitar DVR-390H Digital Camera
PLS WHEN THE DEVICE IS TURN ON ,THE FIRST SCREEN ASK YOU FOR DATES AND STUFF, AFTER THIS THE NEXT SCREEN DOES NOT OPEN, I USED A DIFFRENT AC ADAPTOR ,
You might be able to buy a replacement or universal adapter at your local CircuitCity or Best Buy. If you can find one there, may I suggest that you contact the camera's manufacturer.

The Vivitar DVR 390H is notorious for overheating. When the Vivitar has been on for awhile and/or it is being used heavily(uploading pics/vids to your computer, playing music, viewing videos, etc) it will overheat. The bad part is that it overheats fairly easily.
I have one of these and I do like it, but I mostly use it for its 20 GB harddrive as a backup harddrive. My suggestion is to try and make sure that the camera is not near something such as the fan on your computer, under a lamp, or near a wall when trying to upload pics/vids to your computer. Also when downloading/uploading things to and from this camera, do not try to move ALOT of files at the same time. Also, try to keep it turned off as much as possible when you are not using it. I suggest setting the "power off" to 10 minutes just to make sure.
I hope this helps!

These cameras are notorious for overheating. The one that I have usually takes alittle while before it overheats, but when it does the screen freezes and i can only turn it off by pulling out the battery. The reason these cameras were only produced for about half a year is because of this problem. There is a major design flaw with the camera. If you look at it closely, you will not see proper ventilation areas. If you have noticed, after using the camera for maybe 10-15 minutes the back of it gets EXTREMELY hot. My best suggestion is to try to keep it away from ANY external heat sources when using it. Also, do not use it for prolonged amounts of time. The only thing I use mine for now is a backup harddrive because of the 20 GB harddrive on it and I don't have to worry about overheating because as soon as I am done uploading files, I turn it off. So if nothing else, you do have a pretty nice backup hard drive. Hope this helps!
