Question about LG HBM 730 Bluetooth Headset Wireless Headset

Not connecting When I try to connect the LG HBM 730 to my LG 8700 phone it tells me "device out of range or turned off" when it is right next to me and turned on with a fully charged battery. Any suggestions because this is driving me absolutely crazy!?

I've got the same problem. LG 8700 phone...LG HBM-770 Bluetooth headset. Once they're paired and connected they should automatically disconnect and reconnect when needed (distance/charging/etc). Instead, I have to usually turn on the head set, turn off the phone, restart the phone and then connect. Then if I plug either one into the charger it's hit or miss whether they will auto-reconnect. Sometimes when I'm on a call it will go silent and the phone will report "audio transferred to phone" so I open the phone and try to continue my conversation and the audio will jump back and forth between the phone and headset. Please help!!

I've been having the same problem exactly with my bluetooth, they have replaced the phone and bluetooth and it is still happening. I think it's the model of the phone LG 8700.

I was having a problem getting my hbm-730 to connect/turn on with my enV. i took the suggestion of turning phone off and then turning it back on. i had already removed the device from my phone thinking i had to reprogram it.

when i turned the phone back on, i was able to pair up my bluetooth with my phone with no problem. now, we'll see what happens next time.....but that worked for now.

The only real solution is to have Verizon replace the 8700 with a NEW one, not a refurbished one, which is what they normally do. Clearly this phone suffers from manufacturing/design problems relative to the Bluetooth. I have had mine replaced 3 times now, and the Bluetooth replaced twice. Getting a totally new phone will, however, only buy you 3 or 4 months of relief.

Good luck!

I had the same problem with a VX5400. *228 send to reprogram the phone fixed it for the moment.

LG HBM 310 will not connect to to my new Blackberry 9550. I am entering 0000 as required.

You must put your headset in pairing mode first. Starting with it turned off, press and hold the power button (on its side), until the indicator light is steadily lit in blue (make sure you don't release the button when the light starts to flash as if the headset was being turned on). Only then, make your phone search for new devices. After a while, the HBM-310 should appear on-screen. Select it and make it connect. If a pairing code (or PIN, or passkey) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros). If the pairing process is successful, your headset should enter the stand-by mode. There might be an indication that a bluetooth headset is connected, too. The pairing process between any two bluetooth enabled devices should be performed only once. All subsequent connections between them should be achieved simply by bringing them within each other's range (with their bluetooth radios turned on, of course). At most, a simple press on the call button should suffice.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out soon.

Please, let me know if I can help you any further.
Regards, Carlos

HOW DO I PLACE AN LG BLUETOOTH HBM710 IN "DISCOVERY MODE" ?

Just came across your question while searching for the same answer - Here's what I found out:

When it's off, press and hold the on button for 5 seconds - it'll turn on, but keep holding until you hear the short beep - the light's on and you're where you want to be. Here's the full text that I found from the manual:

-With the HBM-710 off, press and hold the PWR/END button for 5 seconds
(You will hear a short beep and the LED indicator will stay red, when the device enters pairing mode)
-Using your handset, find the "Bluetooth menu" and "search for" or "add" new devices
- Select "LG HBM-710" from the list of devices and pair it with your headset
- When asked for the Pass/PIN code during the pairing procedure, please enter "0000" (4 zeros)
- Once pairing has been completed successfully, you will hear a beep
- After pairing successfully, be sure to "connect" to the LF HBM-710
- If you want to pair with other devices in the future, the headset must be in "Pairing mode"
- If it will be not connected the "Pairing" for three minutes, it will be turned off.

HELP....

Well my user manual for HBM-550 says:

Prior to using the Headset for the first time, you must pair it with a Bluetooth enabled handset.
With the HBM-550 off, press and hold the Pwr/End button for 5 seconds,
You will hear two short beeps and the LED indicator will flicker in red and blue alternately, when the divice enters Paring Mode.

Using your Handset, find the Bluetooth Menu and "search for" or "add" new devices.
Select "LG HBM-550" from the list of devices and pair it with your handset.
When asked for the pass/PIN code during the paring procedure, please enter "0000" (4zeros).
Once paring has completed successfully, you will hear a beep.
After paring successfully, be sure to "Connect" to the HBM-550.
If you want to pair with other devices in the future, the headset must be placed in pairing Mode.
If the HBM 550 is in "Paring Mode" for 3 minutes, without being paired to a device, the Headset will automatically turn off.
